The Worshipful Master's Jewel, the square

Greetings from the East,

Brothers, I have to start by thanking everyone for a fantastic GMOV.  Chef Dia has once again given us an amazing dinner and reception.  The Grand Master was very happy to have such wonderful food. I want to thank Tracy, Kylia, and Kendall as well for lending a hand not only for the GMOV but every dinner. Also, a huge thank you to Betty Snowden for crafting a desert that thoroughly impressed everyone.

April will be an exciting month for myself and my family as we are expecting our son any day now.  My wife was so pleased and thankful for the baby shower everyone arranged for us.  We are continually reminded how blessed we are to have such amazing friends and brothers in our lives.

Finally, I have to thank all the brothers of Mt. Moriah.  A master is nothing without his brothers and all of you have helped me more than I can ever explain.

Fraternally,
Eric Holder, WM

I take this month’s column to call attention to an upcoming Masonic Workshop that will be held on: April 30, 9:00 am at the Masonic Memorial Temple, 2200 W. Mesquite Ave, Las Vegas, NV.
There will be a refreshments and lunch served for a reasonable price and it is expected to finish by 3:00 pm. This workshop, in combination with a Fall Workshop, is a replacement for the Nevada Masonic Leadership Conference which has been canceled for 2016. The April Workshop is expected to cover the Entered Apprentice degree in the AM, and the Fellowcraft degree in the afternoon.  It also will cover some general information regarding conducting candidates, conducting practices, learning ritual, using floor work plates, and decorum during Masonic Degrees.

RSVP is requested so that seating and food/beverages counts can be gathered. Since the Grand Lecturer is requesting each lodge send a single email to the Grand Lodge with anticipated attendees, Please let the Worshipful Master/Secretary know at/or before the Stated meeting.

As a reminder from March’s Trestleboard, we thank you in advance for your support of the Scholarship fund.

Fraternally,
Tony York
Senior Warden

The Junior Warden's Station in the South

As the Sun gains momentum in the days ahead, so should we; Mt. Moriah Lodge #39.

As our summer break approaches, in May I’ve planned an exciting BBQ menu for the Widow’s Dinner, with specifics to follow next month.  So plan to visit and enjoy fellowship, for more than an hour or two.

As for this months menu:
Mixed Green Salad
Caesar Salad
Chicken Alfredo with Broccoli
Spaghetti and Meatballs
Sautéed Vegetables
Desserts

Also, we’ve received accolades for the work that we put out and it’s POSITIVE!!!
So practice and polish, remember our resources are put in place for our betterment.  So we have to walk and act as such.

Sincerely,
Dennis Ashley
Junior Warden

Brethren,

April 2016 is soon to arrive, plan to spend one night in lodge, whether its dinner or a stated meeting or watching a degree or practice degree, or some sort of educational program…. Your bound to enjoy your evening and catch up with your brothers. Who knows you may even learn something. In any case we sure would love to see you, so look over the schedule and plan on attending at least one night this month and remember what freemasonry is all about. As April brings warmer weather I will be setting the dates for this year’s Summer Pool Party and BBQ, with some changes in mind to add a fundraising twist to support various events for various masonic bodies that meet in our Henderson Temple. There will still be swimming and BBQ to enjoy by all, but we will add some items and/or raffles as part of the fundraiser. To help brainstorm and make this a success, text or email me your ideas.

Thanks

Mike Harris PM
