The Worshipful Master's Station in the East with Jewel, Apron, and Gavel.

Brothers, I cannot believe it is already June and with that, our break for the summer.

Many of us will spend extra time with our families this summer or take a chance to escape the heat and travel.  As we use our break to relax and rest, don’t forget though to reach out to brothers and widows who might need an extra hand when it is often too much to get outdoors.  We have one project already planned to help out MW Bud Shed and I am sure we will have more throughout the months off.  We will, of course, update our website and Facebook page with all necessary information as plans are made.

If at any point you are in need of any assistance please do not hesitate to get a hold of myself or any other brother.  Finally, my brothers, I hope you all have a great summer and I look forward to sitting with you in lodge.

Eric Holder, WM

Brethren,

Summer is here and as this is our last Trestleboard before September. I would like take my column to address two topics.

First, I would like to present to the lodge and HTA members the two proposed By-Law changes (amendments) that the HTA board will be introducing at the June stated meeting and after discussion and input would like to bring before the HTA members at the “HTA Annual Meeting”, which takes place within the Mount Moriah September Stated meeting.

These two amendments are intended on aiding the HTA with the ability to have a quorum for the monthly meetings and to have those meetings at a time that is convenient for both Mt Moriah & the HTA

Proposed change #1 Draft – add b to Section 2
Members & Qualifications  Section 2
b) At any scheduled meeting , if there is not a recognized quorum present, the sitting officer may select a member of the Henderson Temple Association (HTA) who is present to participate and cast a vote for the missing member.

Proposed change #2 Draft – amend section 2
Meeting and Voting  Section 2
Shall be held on the Monday preceding the Mount Moriah Stated Meeting, or as designated by the HTA Board of which due and timely notice will be given.

These are drafts and you will have the ability to give input at both the June and September stated meeting as well as all HTA board meetings preceding  the Annual meeting.

Lastly, I reflect on our first part of the year with pride and look forward to more fellowship when we return to lodge in September. I hope you all have a great summer.

Brethren

The summer break is upon us, and personal time will be abundant.  It will be wise of us to use this time to practice on our proficiency and rituals!  Many brothers have indicated that they are willing to donate their time and resources to us as needed, I will definitely be taking advantage of this opportunity.  Every single education seminar I’ve attended, whether on a Grand scale or picnic table, I’ve come away fulfilled.  I encourage each over the summer to: IMPROVE YOURSELF IN MASONRY!!!

In closing, PRACTICE & POLISH!!!

Sincerely,

Greetings from the East,

As Master of Mt. Moriah Lodge one of my top priorities for the year has been to provide opportunities for training and personal growth.  So far, we have held multiple education nights as well as meetings dedicated to practicing degree work. As a result, I have had several brothers share with me how they are working hard on different parts for degrees. Some brothers are getting their feet wet by taking on the working tools while others are taking the plunge by studying lectures. For anyone that would like help with any part, feel free to give me a call or text and I would be more than happy to meet with you.

Degree work is not everyone’s forte though, which is why education nights are so important to the lodge.  Over the past few months the education provided by our brothers has enlightened many and sparked curiosity in all those that attend.  I highly encourage everyone to join the next education night we will be having later this month.

All of the lessons we learn and practice in lodge are designed to make us better men outside of lodge. There is no greater example of this than how we help and support the families of our fallen brothers. This year has been difficult for many of us as we have seen too many of our brothers lay down their working tools for the last time but this month we can take a moment to celebrate their lives and honor their wives during our “Widows’ Dinner.” I look forward to seeing everyone there for this very important event.

Finally, on a personal note, my wife and I were overjoyed to welcome our son into the world on the 6th. Theodore and mama are doing great and thank you to all for the kind messages we received.

Also, thank you to the brothers for filling in during my absence. I hope to see you at our stated
meeting and May the 4th be with you.

As we move toward the summer, May gives us a great opportunity to gather for fellowship, for degrees and a chance to catch up with each other. Often life is very hectic and we bounce from commitment to commitment please take this May to reunite with your brothers at Mt Moriah. If I can assist you with this by helping you get to lodge please let me know.

As one last reminder, it is not too late to contribute to the Lodge scholarship fund, we are planning to award two scholarships to graduating Seniors from Basic but need your help to do so.

Thank you in advance for your considerations.
